An interesting genetics question?

Why do my sister's blue/gray eyes have a noticeable, dark brown ring around the pupil, while mine do not? Is there a specific pigment that causes this...or maybe just more melanin (her skin is noticeably darker)? Both of our parents have blue eyes.
