Does this affect my school grades?

I'm 17 and for my whole life my father mostly discouraged me from my dreams. for example in jr. high i wanted to learn guitar as any kid of my age. he discouraged me by telling me i have to study for school. i told to my family that i want live and study in States, my mother didnt say anything special but my father as always said, stay here in your country, finish your university and go marry (i dont want to marry at all, i want carreer instead of diapers)... i cried many times for this sh*t.... and now that i'm almost done with school and i have poor grades i wonder all this discourage brought me to hate studying? : /
