Governments are moving to make just living with a woman the same raw deal as marriage for a man?

For example in Australia, if you live with a woman for more than two years and have sex with her, the law counts her as your de-facto wife. Do you therefore think that the climbing trend for young men (especially the professionally qualified) not to marry, will now extend to cohabitation?
